Directions—Stoney Lake for Retreats Phone: 1-705-877-3635The cottage is north of PETERBOROUGH, in the area of LAKEFIELD on STONEY LAKE, at GILCHRIST BAY.From Toronto take the 401 east to #35-115, then north to #7 towards Ottawa.Having by-passed Peterborough and started east on #7 you will come to #134 (approximately 13 km.). Turn north (left) on #134 and continue to the end of the road at #28.At #28 turn right (north) and continue approximately 100 yards until you reach SOUTH STONEY LAKE ROAD, county road #6.Turn right onto #6 or SOUTH STONEY LAKE ROAD. Follow it along quite a long way. There is a place where it appears to end but just turn to the left and you will find you are still on #6.When you come to a long steep descent, you are getting close. On your right you will pass West Dummer Lake Road. You will cross a small bridge and then pass East Dummer Lake Road on your right.30 yards beyond the East Dummer Lake Road, on the opposite side of the road are two adjacent gates. The second gate has signs saying Little’s Hart Haven and Elliot. I will post balloons on this sign to make it easier to spot. There is usually a large teepee constructed at the entrance. The entrance is on your left hand side of the road. It is now also the entrance to a large golf course.Just follow the gravel road in. The retreat cabin is a log house about 200 yards from the first gate on a bay on the left hand side.If you get to a big sign for Crowe’s Landing and the Irwin Inn, you have gone too far.Travel safely. Directions - Rita’s OfficeFrom Toronto and area: 401 East - Take the Ritson Rd. exit (the first exit after Simcoe St. exit) The ramp comes to a dead end. Turn left and go to the first lights. That is Ritson Rd. Turn left on Ritson Rd. Travel some distance until you get to Rossland Rd. (There are 3 churches on the corners) Turn right on Rossland Rd. The next light is Central Park. Turn left on Central Park. About 5 or 6 streets down on the right hand side is Lambeth Court. Turn right onto Lambeth Court. 392 is at the end of the street.
From the East (Cobourg, etc.): 401 West. Take the Ritson Rd. exit. When you come off the ramp, turn right at the first street. At the end of the street you come to Ritson Rd. Turn left on Ritson Rd. Travel some distance until you get to Rossland Rd. (There are 3 churches on the corners) Turn right on Rossland Rd. The next light is Central Park. Turn left on Central Park. About 5 or 6 streets down on the right hand side is Lambeth Court. Turn right onto Lambeth Court. 392 is at the end of the street.
From Highway 115: Take the Taunton Rd. exit. Go West (to the right). Take Taunton Road all the way into Oshawa. Turn left on Wilson Rd. Turn right on Beatrice Rd. Turn left on Central Park Rd. Several streets down on the left hand side is Lambeth Court. Turn left onto Lambeth Court. 392 is at the end of the street. |
